"Close Encounters of the Chemical Kind!"(K-8)
This presentation willWOWyour kids with excitingchemical reactions while they get involved inexperiments with color changes, a mysterious Genie, gooey Gak, springy Superballs and more. Electrifying displays of fire and liquid nitrogen thrill the audience while providing the opportunity to discuss and emphasize safety.
WeGUARANTEEthat your kids will have a blast with Chemistry while learning basics about liquids and solids and the chemical reactions that areused to create every-day substances such aspaint, car bumpers and all kinds of polymers.
In addition middle school presentations focus on more advanced chemical reactions, chemical bonding and careers in Chemistry.
We know from experience that children are visual learners so we involve50-60 volunteers. Your kids will be talking about Chemistry long after the presentation is over!

"Lights, Camera, Action!"(K-8)
Developed for theSC Johnson WaxCompany's Educational Series, this program demonstrates all the wonders of basic Physics! We explore light andsound, wavelength and frequency, prisms and ROYGBIV, the colors that make up the visible spectrum.
Kids learn about angular momentum whilebalancingon a rotating disk and feeling the forcesof a spinning wheel. They get a charge out oflearning about safe static electricity with hair-raisingresults! Volunteers ride a real hovercraft and jet-powered tricycle - an exciting way to experience Newton's Laws of Motion! Middle school studentseagerly volunteer to demonstrate Bernoulli's Principle, terminal velocity, the Doppler effect, and theelectromagnetic spectrum.
WeGUARANTEEthat your kids will have fun unlocking the mysteries of basic Physics that explain how their world and universe behaves.
Kids are visual learners so we involve up to 50volunteers while getting them turned on to Physics!

"World Works!"(K-8)
Students learn about recycling, composting,
the water cycle and acid rain. Volunteers dump layers of "trash and dirt" behind a Plexiglas barrier to visually demonstrate how a landfill is built andwhy they are both beneficial and harmful. Kidsbegin to understand the importance of conserving our forests as they watch volunteers build a tower of newspapers. They are surprised to learn howlong it takes for some of the plastic and rubberproducts we use everyday to decompose. Invasivespecies can ruin a habitat so we bring in a REAL Sea Lamprey and Zebra Mussel! Kids are fascinated -"Yuck - GROSS!!"
Middle school kids are presented specific problemswithin their own zip codes such as the water andair quality, impact of area landfills and otherinfluences on their local environment. We involveMANYvolunteers because we know that kids are visual learners. Don't be surprised if they teachYOUa few things about recycling, reusing and renewingYOURenvironment!

"Science Fair Survival!"(K-8)
As a science fair judge for many years, Bill Bosworth saw a need to inspire more students to participate in their science fair. Our program helpskids overcome the fear of participation by firstengaging them with a fast-paced Chemistry demonstration followed by collecting data, observing results and forming a hypothesis.
We then discuss the Scientific Method while testing our hypothesis, recording results, and learning how to create an original and winningreport and presentation describing the conclusion.Kids will have a blast while learning what the judges are looking for in a winning science fair project.
As with all our programs weGUARANTEEthatyour kids will be more excited about participating
intheir science fair and will have a great time gaining confidence in their own abilities whileexperiencing the rewards of a job well done and pride in accomplishment!

"Bugs, Beetles & Bookworms!"(K-8)
Developed at the request of theMid-Wisconsin Federated Library System, this fun and fast-pacedinsect safari makes Entomology FUN! Kids investigatethe life stories of monarch butterflies, dragonflies, beetles, spiders and more.
They'll learn the body parts of insects as they label a gigantic 8-foot long ant and praying mantis! This helpsthem discover how bugs' bodies are similar but differentthan their own!Volunteers look through crazy goggles to see the world through a bug's compound eye.
Did you know that bees communicate with each otherby "dancing"? Our world could not survive withoutbees and the importance of protecting them is stressed! In Middle School programs we elaborate on the plight of bees anddiscuss the disturbing "colonycollapse disorder" that has affected our bee population.
WeGUARANTEEthat your kids will have a blastlearning about wings and stings and crawlie things! We involve lots of volunteers in every program. Kids will be BUZZING about BUGS long after the presentation!
