About us...
Fast-paced, fun and guaranteed to thrill, all our programs are most importantly educational! Bill Bosworth taught high school Chemistry, Physics and Biology for ten years in Lake Geneva WI before deciding that a more hands-on, inquiry-based teaching style was necessary to inspire children to have fun while experiencing the world of science first-hand. It is difficult to translate the wonders of science via blackboard, textbook or lab report and we believe that interactive learning is the key to capturing kids' attention. In 1990 Bosworth established "The Science Alliance" and for 20 years has traveled around the Midwest sparking enthusiasm in hundreds of thousands of K-8 kids to further their science studies, read more about science, participate in science fairs and even seek a career in the many fields of science available to them.
A message from Bill Bosworth and The Science Alliance...
We are well aware that science literacy is critical to this nation's economic competitiveness and that the United States is losing its position of superiority in the science world. The National Science Teacher's Association studies and monitors the ongoing progress of science education and ten years ago sent out a warning about whether students would be "adequately prepared for the challenges of the next century."
Why is science education reform so important? "Because," says NSTA Past President Dr. Steven Rakow, "when students learn science experientially through the scientific processes of asking questions, experimenting, analyzing and testing assumptions, they become scientifically literate and develop important lifelong skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork abilities." Employed as a Chemist for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric
Earned a Teaching Degree: University of Wisconsin - Broadfield Science Major
Taught High School Chemistry, Physics and Biology: Badger High School, Lake Geneva WI
for ten years
Created The Science Alliance in 1990 & pledged to get kids inspired to explore science
